Sunflower Donation to the residents of Eckerd Living Center

Sunflowers grown with Love + Intention

Eckerd Living Center

Highlands, NC

This morning, I harvested 60 sunflowers for the residents of Eckerd Living Center, a local nursing home here on the Plateau!

This is something I have been wanting to do for a while now and the main reason I started cultivating sunflowers in the first place…but with Covid lock downs last year, it just wasn’t possible.

Prior to my mom passing in early February 2019, she was in a nursing home in South Florida. When I would visit, I would always bring her fresh flowers to some good vibes to her room. On the days I would bring sunflowers, almost everyone would stop to comment on how beautiful they were and how happy it made them just looking at them I remember wishing that I had enough to gift all the residents and staff because lets face it…sunflowers are the happiest flowers around!

Fast forward a few years and now I have my very own flower patch with abundant blooms and being able to share buckets of sunshine with these men and women at Eckerd Living Center makes my heart happy! This is the reason why I do what I do and the inspiration for The Sharing Sunshine Project!!!
